A first large-scale deal in Luxembourg
Caisse d’Epargne Belgium, the Belgian branch of Caisse d’Epargne Hauts de France, has completed its first deal in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
“As part of a banking pool including a Belgian bank and a Luxembourg bank, we are financing a 34,000 m2 office real estate project located in the city of Luxembourg’s Cloche d’Or business district. The project is being developed by Atenor, a Belgian real estate developer active in 10 European countries”, specifies Thierry Navette, Director of Caisse d’Epargne Belgium.
he professional services provider PwC has already taken out a green lease for the whole of the campus for a firm 15-year term. The working areas are complemented by 3,500m² of green spaces and 5,700 m² of terraces. To respond to sustainability issues, Atenor designed the project in alignment with the European Taxonomy, with the aim of obtaining the Breeam Excellent and Well Gold labels.
A new step in Benelux Caisse d’Epargne Belgium has been present in Belgium for 10 years and runs a €1bn loan book focused on large corporations (1/3 publicly listed, 1/4 family-owned groups), real estate companies and real estate developers. “We aim to capitalize on our Belgian experience to expand our portfolio of business across the whole of the Benelux region. This first large-scale deal in Luxembourg for a recognized real estate developer marks a further step toward realizing this ambition”, concludes Alcyme Delannoy, Director Benelux.
Caisse d’Epargne Hauts de France, a banker operating in northern France for 200 years, is a 100% regional cooperative bank endowed with B Corp certification. It is a member of Groupe BPCE. The bank has 3,000 staff, 300 branches and 10 business centers providing banking and insurance services to 1.1 million retail clients and 45,000 companies. It also works with local government bodies, social economy structures, public housing organizations and real estate professionals. It booked €685m of net banking income in 2022.
